Generali PPF Holding

Generali PPF Holding B.V. is the holding company for the Group’s insurers and insurance-related operators in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE), Russia and other CIS countries, the shareholders of which are Assicurazioni Generali and PPF Group. The holding company commenced operations on 17 January 2008.

Generali PPF Holding provides multiline insurance with a focus on retail (P&C and life) insurance and pension business. The holding company has operations in 14 countries (Belarus, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia and Ukraine). Its total assets under management are EUR almost 16 billion and it has more than 13 million customers across the region. The company is registered in the Netherlands but its main organisational unit is in Prague, Czech Republic, from which its operations are managed. Generali PPF Holding is also a tax resident in the Czech Republic where its tax obligations are fulfilled.

The holding comprises Ceska pojistovna, its former subsidiaries in Slovakia, Russia and CIS countries, and Generali branches in CEE countries.

Despite unfavourable economic conditions Generali PPF Holding demonstrated improvement in major financial KPIs in 2011, by significantly increasing its net profit (28% y-on-y, up to EUR 314mil), improving operational result, as well as Combined Ratio. The Czech Insurance Company (Ceska pojistovna-CP) is by far the most significant part of Generali PPF Holding in terms of volume of GWP and profit; CP is the largest insurance company in the Czech Republic.
