PPF Group, through its joint venture SAZKA sázková kancelář, a.s., has taken over all betting and lottery activities from SAZKA, a.s., which is facing insolvency. SAZKA sázková kancelář pursues PPF Group’s activities in lotteries and betting games and is a joint venture between PPF and the KKCG Group with each partner holding a 50% equity stake. The shareholders of SAZKA sázková kancelář appointed Kamil Ziegler as the company’s Chief Executive Officer with effect from 1 November 2011.

SAZKA Sázková kancelář's offering includes national and instant lotteries, betting and numerous scratch card games under the traditional SAZKA and Sportka brands. Thanks to its nationwide network of more than 6,200 terminals it also offers additional packages such as mobile telephone credit top-up services and ticket sales for sports and cultural events. SAZKA was established in 1956 and remains the largest entity in the competitive Czech lottery market. It has the most extensive point-of-sale (POS) network across the Czech Republic, and offers a range of ways to win big through the traditional Sportka and Euromillions lotteries, the Keno lottery game and the Pat & Mat scratch cards.

In the Czech Republic, the operation of betting shops and lotteries is subject to licensing and supervision by the Ministry of Finance of the Czech Republic.
