Product Owner for Nova AI Center

We are starting Nova AI Team from scratch and we’re open and honest about it. We want to create a small, agile, and cross-functional team that will build meaningful AI/ML products for Nova and for the whole CME group. This team should have a right mix of Machine Learning engineers and Data Scientists on various levels of seniority, orchestrated by a Product Owner.

We are the biggest commercial television in Central Europe, building also own video streaming platform serving 500 000+ subscribers – and this is definitely a place where you can make a difference and push us more towards state-of-the-art AI world.

owning the ML product in its whole context: from business stakeholders, through development team, to deployment and evaluation

orchestrating the ML product development team, including Scrum-like events (but not being a Scrum master! we don’t need that one)

deciding which product features to build and when

driving and owning the ML product design and architecture

establishing and maintaining shared product vision and roadmap across Nova AI Team

defining success product metrics, monitor and analyse them to provide feedback back to the development team

continuously helping with setup and improvements in engineering workflows

continuously evolving Product Backlog based on learning and adapting to changes

maintaining transparency through the whole Software Development Lifecycle

You can have a hybrid work mode: a part of the week from home (e.g., deep work, coding), a part in the office (e.g., team meetings, Scrum events, brainstorming, pair coding, code revision).

If you live far from Prague, we can arrange a special mode fore you – 1 day in the office per week, as long as you’re able to stay productive, creative and fully in touch with your team using online tools.

What is essential

• degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
• 2+ years of experience building software solutions in an enterprise or start up engineering environment, preferably using Python, Scala, C++ and/or Java
• 2+ years of experience creating and managing software product in roles Product Manager/Owner
• experience with tools for managing software requirements, code versioning and issue tracking
• very good communication skills, empathy, active listening, decision making, presentation skills
• both Czech and English in full professional proficiency

What is optional

• experience from startup environment is a big plus
• experience with working with data-oriented or analytics teams is a big plus
• experience with data warehouses, big data platforms, data science and machine learning based products is a big plus
• experience with cloud products is a plus
