PPF Art focuses on culture and art activities for the long term.

PPF was one of the first privately held companies to launch systematic support for the arts in the 1990s; this move helped to rescue some unique art projects and works of art.

PPF Art helps to promote and popularise Czech art in the Czech Republic and other countries. It manages PPF’s art collections, organises exhibitions in well-known art galleries in Prague, and also cooperates with other galleries to which it lends works for exhibitions in the Czech Republic and elsewhere. It also contributes to the production of thematic visual art publications.

Art collections

PPF Art manages one of the largest private collections of Czech and Slovak photography. Josef Sudek’s photographs are the cornerstone of the collection, which also includes, for example, the works of František Drtikol, Jaromír Funke, Ivan Pinkava, Tono Stano and many others. Young contemporary photographers’ portfolios are added to the collection every year. The collection comprises 2,044 works by 192 photographers (July 2019 data). A selection of the works in PPF Group’s collection of Czech and Slovak photography can be viewed at

PPF Art also manages a collection of 333 works of fine art, mainly pictures and sculptures, including those of Alfons Mucha, Maxmilián Pirner, Jakub Schikaneder, Luděk Marold, Mikuláš Medek, August Pienhagen, and contemporary artists, such as Ivan Ouhel, Tomáš Císařovský, Petr Nikl, Jan Merta, and others. PPF has bought some of the works from the ‘Golden Fund’ of Česká pojišťovna’s collection. A selection of the works in PPF Group’s collection of pictures can be viewed at

Art gallery operation

The company organises the year-round operation of two galleries in Prague: the Josef Sudek Studio in Újezd and the Václav Špála Gallery on Národní třída, where it introduces well-established Czech artists’ works, as well as young artists’ unusual and surprising installations to the public.

The Václav Špála Gallery: Guided by PPF Art, the gallery focuses on contemporary Czech artists’ professional art in its exhibition programming.

The Josef Sudek Studio: The work of this globally acclaimed Czech photographer has become the cornerstone of the photography collection. The company also operates an art gallery bearing his name, the Josef Sudek Studio, which PPF has helped to restore.
