PPF Art focuses on culture and art activities for the long term.
Starting in the 1990s, PPF Art has built a substantial collection of Czech and Czechoslovak photography which now consists of 1,800 pieces of art by 150 different artists. A series of photographs by the world-renowned photographer, Josef Sudek, is a key feature of the collection. In addition, the company manages a fine art collection based on a collection of paintings belonging to the Czech Insurance Company, bought by PPF in 2014, which dates back almost 200 years to when the insurer was founded. PPF Art operates two galleries in Prague, the Josef Sudek Studio and the Václav Špála gallery, both of which present the works of established Czech artists as well as innovative and unusual installations by up--and-coming artists. The company also contributes to the promotion and development of art through co-operation with other galleries, lending works of art to both domestic and international exhibitions, as well as through the publishing of art books connected to its collections or to exhibitions organised by PPF Art.
PPF Art operates the following galleries
- Vaclav Spala Gallery (Galerie Václava Špály) - PPF Art became the operator of this prestigious gallery for a ten year term in the spring of 2010, having won the tendering process run by the Prague 1 Municipal District.
- Thanks to PPF Group's investment, the crumbling studio of the famous photographer, Josef Sudek Studio (Ateliér Josefa Sudka), has been turned into a respected exhibition space.
