Our operations span over six Central and Eastern European markets, and we are looking for a skilled Senior Accountant to join our team. This position is based in Prague headquarters and reports directly to the Head of Accounting & Reporting.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the transaction processing of CME Services s.r.o. and the financial close processes for both statutory and group reporting.
- Responsibility for two direct reports.
- Maintain an effective control environment in Corporate Accounting and Reporting through risk identification, operating review and monitoring controls.
- Maintain appropriate accounting records in line with Group and local fiscal/legal requirements.
- Liaison with other departments including tax and legal to coordinate the financial statements and processes related to the corporate entities.
- Primary point of contact for statutory auditors and group auditors for Corporate segment related procedures.
- Responsible for the filing of certain CME entities' statutory financial statements, tax returns and national statistics.
- Preparation of management recharge calculations.
- Managing tasks connected with post-ERP implementation to fine-tune the system and processes.
- Produce ad hoc reports and participate on ad hoc projects as required.
- To provide assistance to the Group Head of Accounting and Reporting as required.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a multinational environment.
- Experience with statutory reporting, financial close processes, and tax compliance.
- Previous experience managing or mentoring a small team is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and local accounting standards.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (experience with post-implementation adjustments is an advantage).
- Advanced Excel skills; familiarity with financial reporting tools is a plus.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise with auditors, tax authorities, and internal stakeholders.
- Fluency in English (both written and spoken).
- Czech/Slovak language proficiency is an advantage.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
