PPF Telecom Group Completes Separation of Retail and Infrastructure Business and Establishes CETIN Group

PPF Telecom Group today announces the completion of the separation of retail and infrastructure at three of its Telenor branded mobile operators in Bulgaria, Hungary, and Serbia, and subsequent establishment of CETIN Group.

PPF and SOTIO invest $6.5 million in MaveriX Oncology and its lead program MVX-5005

SOTIO, together with PPF, and MaveriX Oncology, Inc., today announce the investment of PPF Group in MaveriX Oncology Inc., a private biotech company with a proprietary pipeline of targeted, small-molecule cancer chemo-immunotherapeutics. PPF has committed to investing $6.5 million in MaveriX Oncology’s ongoing Series A financing contingent on key development milestones. In total, MaveriX is aiming to secure a total of $20 million in funding and the round will remain open for additional investors to join. The proceeds will enable MaveriX to advance the company’s lead program MVX-5005 through IND-enabling studies, and complete first-in-human Phase Ia/Ib clinical trials for the treatment of solid tumors in support of clinical proof-of-concept. The company will also advance further platform programs to drug candidate selection.

PPF and CME Announce Signing Agreement to Acquire RTL Croatia

PPF Group (PPF) announces that its subsidiary CME Media Enterprises B.V. (CME) has signed an agreement with RTL Group Central & Eastern Europe GmbH to acquire 100% of RTL Hrvatska d.o.o., (RTL Croatia), a commercial broadcaster in Croatia. The assets are valued at €50million. As part of the transaction, CME has secured the long-term rights to retain the use of the RTL brand in Croatia.

PPF Group and EMMA Capital announce further cooperation in Home Credit Group

PPF Group and EMMA Capital announced that they have completed the transfer of Emma Capital’s 2.5% shareholding in Home Credit to PPF. As a result, PPF Group now holds 91.12% of the shares of Home Credit Group, with EMMA Capital holding the remaining 8.88%. This transaction values Home Credit Group at EUR 8.5 billion.

SOTIO Acquires Rights to BOXR CAR-T Platform and Products from Unum Therapeutics

SOTIO, a clinical stage immuno-oncology company owned by PPF Group, today announced that it has acquired the rights to Unum Therapeutics’ (Nasdaq: UMRX) BOXR cell therapy platform and BOXR lead programs to develop novel T cell therapies for the treatment of solid tumors. The proprietary Bolt-on Chimeric Receptor technology incorporates novel transgenes to enhance T cell function in the solid tumor microenvironment.

PPF Group completes the acquisition of Škoda Transportation and appoints a new CEO

PPF Group announces completion of its acquisition of 100% of shares in Škoda Transportation, including other assets related to the company’s operations. Some personnel changes have also been made in the company’s top-management, following closing of the transaction.

The Open Gate grammar school and primary school open their 14th academic year

On 3 September 2018, the gates of the Open Gate grammar school and primary school were opened to the next academic year for the 14th time. At Open Gate, 378 pupils and students are starting the 2018/19 academic year, 98 of them at the primary school and 280 of them at the eight-year grammar school. The Kellner Family Foundation supports the enrolment of 96 grammar school students from all over the Czech Republic through means-tested grants. Since the establishment of the school, the Foundation has contributed to school fees for 329 students of the Open Gate grammar school. Beginning this September, the pupils and students are wearing new school uniforms featuring modern designs and made from comfortable materials.

A trio of investors – PPF Group, EC Investments and Rockaway – are strengthening their position in the area of delivering parcels from e-shops. They are incorporating into the newly established entity the network of Uloženka pickup points and the courier and delivery company In Time Spedice, whose acquisition was completed in September.

PPF Group and MONETA Money Bank agree to terminate the acquisition of Air Bank Group

PPF Group is announcing that it has signed an agreement today with MONETA Money Bank (MMB) to terminate the process of combining the assets of Air Bank Group with MMB. The termination agreement was prompted by macroeconomic changes which radically altered the parameters of the originally planned merger as laid out in the framework agreement signed by the two parties in May 2021 and subsequently updated in November 2021. PPF believes the conditions underlying the agreed transaction are not and will not be fulfilled. PPF Group was ready to meet the transaction’s obligations, but it welcomes the termination agreement, deeming it the best solution for both PPF and other MMB shareholders.

Sudek: Images and Reflections. A summer exhibition at the Josef Sudek Studio presents Sudek’s original photographs.

Prague’s Josef Sudek Studio gallery will exhibit Josef Sudek’s original photographs from the collections of PPF Art and the Art History Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences. An untraditional exhibit will introduce the general public to Sudek’s works made on a custom basis for his painter friends alongside his own photographic art, which reflects the inspiration he drew from the world of painting.

The Regional Gallery in Liberec opens an exhibition of 150 years of Czech and Slovak photography

An exhibition of valuable photographs from the PPF collection by Josef Sudek, Jaromír Funke, František Drtikol and other famous Czech and Slovak photographers opens at the Regional Gallery in Liberec today, with the opening ceremony held in the former city baths from 5:30 p.m. This unique selection of works reflecting the development of photography and society as a whole will be on display at the Regional Gallery until the end of September 2018. In the summer holidays there will also be special week-long photography studios for children. The exhibition’s curators are Lucie Mlynářová and Luděk Lukuvka.

The foundation of Mrs Renáta Kellnerová and Mr Petr Kellner distributed more than CZK 89 million in 2018

The family foundation of Mr and Mrs Kellner, The Kellner Family Foundation, donated CZK 89.5 million in 2018, primarily for the development of education in the Czech Republic. Most of the funds were channelled into activities in the public and private educational systems, which are being sponsored on a long-term basis: they were intended for pupils, students, and teachers. Over its ten years, the Foundation has distributed as much as CZK 710 million.

“LIGHT. TRACKS.” H2 – Centre for Contemporary Art in Augsburg to exhibit outstanding Czech and Slovak photographs from the PPF collection

The H2 – Centre for Contemporary Art (H2 – Zentrum für Gegenwartskunst im Glaspalast) in Augsburg will exhibit outstanding Czech and Slovak photographs from the PPF art collection. The exhibition titled “LIGHT. TRACKS.” at Augsburg’s Glaspalast will be open to viewers from 24 May to 7 July 2019. The exhibit marks the culmination of the current German-Czech Culture Days and underpins the long-term cooperation between both countries and the partner cities of Augsburg and Liberec.

In the first half of 2019, Air Bank earned 773.7 million crowns, and the number of its clients surpassed 719,000

During the first six months of this year, Air Bank recorded 773.7 million in net profit, a 13% year-on-year increase. The number of Air Bank's clients surpassed the 700,000 mark for the first time. In addition to enlarging its client portfolio, Air Bank increased the volume of provided loans.

PPF Group’s reaction to US Senator Marco Rubio’s letter to Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin and Attorney General William Barr, issued on 26th February 2020

We understand Senator Rubio’s interest in the matter. Unfortunately, in his letter, it would seem that he is relying on false information provided by Czech politician Pavel Fischer. In Senator Rubio’s letter, basic information is incorrect: for example, it is not true that CME operates on markets covering 90 million people; in reality, the number is less than half. It is also not true that PPF is propagating Huawei’s technology; the truth is that we inherited this technology as part of our acquisition of the Norwegian telco operator Telenor last year.

The resilience of PPF’s industry and geographical spread is substantiated by a profitable second half in 2020. The Group is well placed to seize opportunities during the post-covid economic recovery.

PPF Group recorded a net profit of EUR 93 million in the second half of 2020. According to the consolidated and audited results PPF reduced its full-year net loss to EUR 291 million from EUR 384 million as at 30 June 2020.

Regulatory announcement by PPF Telco B.V. on the commencement of reverse accelerated bookbuilding for the acquisition of more than 90% of the share capital and equal voting rights of O2 Czech Republic a.s.

PPF Telco B.V. company (also “PPF Telco”) of PPF Group announces its intention to purchase additional outstanding shares of O2 Czech Republic a.s. (also “O2 CR” and “Shares”), exceeding its existing 67.83% stake in the base capital and voting rights of O2 CR. PPF Telco and other persons from the PPF Group acting in agreement currently hold a total of 83.58% shares of the base capital and voting rights of O2 CR.

PPF has acquired a 90,01% stake in the share capital of O2 CR under a reverse accelerated bookbuilding and is therefore preparing to initiate the withdrawal of these securities from trading on the Prague Stock Exchange

PPF announces that its subsidiary PPF Telco B.V. and other persons from the PPF Group acting in agreement acquired 19 353 910 shares in O2 CR and thereby increased their joint stake this O2 CR to 90.01% from 83.58%.
