As a company with operations across Asia, we witness many of the dire effects of climate change.

For example, last December, the super-typhoon Odette devastated the lives of 13 million people in the Philippines. Together with our NGO partner World Vision, we distributed over 5,000 life-saving relief packages to families in the stricken provinces. We also sent water purifier packets and containers to areas without access to clean water and Huggy tents to extend hospital facilities for treating those suffering from waterborne diseases.

This year, we are preparing a joint CSR project together with the ABSCBN Foundation to help with the revitalization of one of the communities still struggling to cope with the damage caused by the typhoon. The projects will provide the community with a boost in education and livelihood training, as well as the provision of basic utilities. We are also helping to increase the community’s resilience to possible future extreme weather events.
