Central European Media Enterprises (CME)

Central European Media Enterprises (CME) is a media and entertainment company operating television stations in five Central and Eastern European countries.

CME’s operations include 34 television channels broadcasting to approximately 45 million people across five markets: Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia, and Slovenia. In addition to broadcasting, CME produces content for its television channels and develops services and content for online platforms that are constantly on the rise.

CME portfolio

CME television stations enjoy leading audience shares on all five markets. Their popularity is built mainly on local programming. CME Group’s revenues come from advertising as well as paid and subscription services. In 2019, the combined television advertising spending in all CME’s markets reached approximately $916 million.

CME was founded in 1994 with the launch of TV Nova, a private television station in the Czech Republic. PPF completed its acquisition of the CME media group on October 13, 2020.
