Non-audited individual financial results of Air Bank a.s. at 30 June 2019 compiled in accordance with the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS):
In the first half of 2019, Air Bank earned 773.7 million crowns, and the number of its clients surpassed 719,000.
During the first six months of this year, Air Bank recorded 773.7 million in net profit, a 13% year-on-year increase. The number of Air Bank's clients surpassed the 700,000 mark for the first time. In addition to enlarging its client portfolio, Air Bank increased the volume of provided loans.
"During the past quarter, we made it even simpler than before to become an Air Bank client. Thanks to online mobility, customers can transfer their account from another institution to Air Bank from the convenience of their home, without the need to visit a branch. Likewise, an Air Bank account can now be opened by clients as young as 15 years of age. We continually enlarge our portfolio by adding new services. For example, we have launched the pilot operation of a service, which allows clients to invest into mutual funds," explained Air Bank CEO Michal Strcula.
The number of the bank's clients has increased by more than 82,000 year-on-year. At the end of June, Air Bank had 719,774 customers and the number of current accounts grew by 112,000 to reach 807,913. Likewise, the number of savings accounts increased by 12% to 461,072 and the value of deposits in clients' current and savings accounts grew to 105.2 billion crowns.
Air Bank performed favorably in its credit provision, as the volume of loans increased year-on-year by 7% to 47.5 billion crowns. Thanks to the above results and other factors, earnings, net of credit losses, grew year-on-year by 19% to 1.7 billion crowns. Administrative and overhead costs increased by 12% to 777 million crowns.
Air Bank's balance sheet total grew year-on-year by 7% to reach the 115.6 billion crown mark. Equity increased by 22% to 8.5 billion crowns.
